Dr. Jackson leads in total removals of severe exostosis without external incision or regrowth

Message For Our Surfing and Water Enthusiasts
If you surf often, prevent exostosis "surfer's ear" with ear plugs or a hood.  Swim plugs are now available with vents for hearing when they're worn. Ear wax, cerumen, is a water repellant and your friend.  Frequent use of alcohol, vinegar or hydrogen peroxide drops leaves skin dry, cracked and open to infection. No Q-tips!
See Ear Care for Surfers.

Plugging or discomfort means obstructive inflammation. Come and see us for ear clearing and treatment by an ear specialist using an office microscope. When exostosis blocks over 80% of the ear drum and canal it's time to discuss removal. Dr. Jackson's excellent results are recommended by patient, surf champion Corky Carroll in his news column.  Look for it every fall in the OC Register.

By Orange County Register Columnist Corky Carroll
"I could be the poster boy for this condition."
"I have had my left ear drilled five times and my right ear once. One time I had a bad doctor thanks to my insurance telling me that was who I had to go to, and he screwed the packing up, and my skin grew a membrane across the canal.
Finally I went to a really good doctor and had another surgery to remove the stupid membrane."

"The doctor who finally got mine under control is Dr. Carol Jackson of Newport Beach." "Take my advice, folks. If this happens to you, get an expert doctor. The best I know of is Carol Jackson in Newport Beach. She is (with) Hoag Hospital and has an office full of hot babes working for her.  I call 'em the 'ear babes.' "

"SWIMMER'S EAR," acute otitis externa, is a painful swollen canal due to infection of the sensitive skin by bacteria, fungus or both.

ACUTE OTITIS EXTERNA, caused by a common white fluffy fungus known as Candida albicans. Often there is itching but it can be asymptomatic or not noticed until the ear canal is plugged and hearing is reduced.

"SURFER'S EAR" OR EXOSTOSIS, almost "kissing" in the middle, blocking 95% of the ear canal and with a nice sprinkling of Maui sand.
